Behind the Cover Art: August, 2025

For this month’s cover, I chose Route 66 leading into Monument Valley, inspired by its abundance of reference photography and its relevance to the Route 66 Potluck Dance featuring the B-Side Band. This digital painting also reflects personal memories of a cross-country journey from Massachusetts to California in 1951. While the trip was long and challenging, it stays a unique family experience. Capturing the high desert landscape presented a new artistic challenge, and I am pleased with the result.
