Behind the Cover Art: December, 2026

In previous years, the December Crier cover featured an ecumenical theme. This year, I opted for a straightforward design: Santa reviewing his naughty and nice list, looking directly at the viewer with a serious expression. To announce upcoming December activities, I included them on a scroll, which some may recognize as Hebrew—a subtle nod to ecumenical tradition. I have enjoyed painting Santas since childhood, beginning with my first large-scale piece on my parents’ business window during the holidays, completed when I was eleven or twelve years old.
