Behind the Cover Art: February, 2027

When designing the cover for last year’s February 2026 issue, I embraced the spirit of an expected Valentine’s Dinner Dance. Upon learning that the Social Committee canceled the Valentine’s event, I saw an opportunity to innovate—crafting a new cover for 2026 while preserving my original concept for the 2027 February cover.

The upside of the event changes, this cover now created is ready for the printer. I wanted to include elements of romance without resorting to heart shaped designs, as I did for the 2025 cover. My thoughts focused on Chocolate-covered strawberries, expensive champagne, and a romantic atmosphere and music for an impromptu dance.

Even if the Valentine’s event does not return, I look forward to using this design idea for a romantic themed February cover.
