Anne is a wonderful photographer who happens to be a resident of our community as well as a neighbor down the street from my house. She has contributed many landscape photographs for consideration and two have been picked so far, with more to come.

This is the original photograph submitted before cropping and adjusting the lighting.

For Anne's original photograph, I took a chance and delved into the submted raw photograph and found some spectacular lighting that would work so well for the printed magazine cover. I presented my lighting idea to Anne, explaining that the dark scene, which was so natural for the deer, would not print well. Even though the edited result was contrary to her primary vision, she found the edits to her liking and approved of the edits.

Anne, thankfully, has always trusted my judgement to choose with sensitivity when cropping her landscape oriented photographs for the magazine format. As always,I check-in with all photographers to get their approval before going to the printer for publication.
